Quality Eye, a new feature in the latest release of LUCI STUDIO

The Eye shows the connection quality based on combined measurements of lost packets, sequence errors, buffer underruns, and peak jitter. Use the tool to determine whether a connection is good enough to go live. The rate is colored from green (all good), yellow (no audible artifacts), to red (not good).

The Eye’s total display time ranges from 1 minute to 12 hours. Combined with the LUCI STUDIO Log Analyzer, this is a great add-on for monitoring your connections over time.

LUCI Live 6 released

Today we released Version 6.0 of LUCI Live, across the board. A free upgrade for all you faithful LUCI Live users.
With this version we introduced the “Live Pages” for mobile platforms, the upper part of the Main screen can now contain much more functionality like a Webview, Soundbites, Prompter, Notes, Playlist and what the future will bring:

But don’t worry, as you can see in the last screenshot the standard layout is still available. In this case the button beneath the Mic slider is also set to Mute funtionality, another new feature which you can choose.

Another great new feature, you can now use a split screen on tablets:

And, we also added options to use the Front Camera and Portrait or Landscape orientation !
We’ll leave that to your imagination….

Some other small changes:
– you can now import mp3 files
– general graphic improvements
– bugfixes

And last but surely not least:
Current LUCI Subscribe subscriptions can now be used in LUCI Live also. We will remove LUCI subscribe as a seperate app in the very near future so LUCI Live will be the only app everyone can download and use. Using lifetime license types or subscriptions.

LUCI LIVE & LUCI STUDIO with Stream Cloning

Stream Cloning uses multiple internet connections to construct a more reliable audio stream between LUCI LIVE and LUCI STUDIO. Simply switch the protocol in the station setting to SC-RTP and the rest will be taken care of for you automatically. LUCI Stream Cloning feature is available on iOS, Windows, Mac and Linux devices with multiple internet connections.

How does it work?
For example, if you do a live report from a sports location and you have an active Mobile 4G and WiFi connection on your iPhone, LUCI sends 2 streams, one via 4G and the other via WiFi. If one stream goes down, the other will continue to work and the studio will not notice any interruption.

Open Sound Control (OSC) is a protocol for networking sound synthesizers, computers, and other multimedia devices for purposes such as musical performance or show control. OSC’s advantages include interoperability, accuracy, flexibility and enhanced organization and documentation.
