The virtual mixer for Luci Studio Instances.
Luci Studio MX is designed for small productions, allowing you to mix audio from multiple external guests for recording or live broadcasting. Optionally, you can include a local channel for your host and a monitor strip for your producer or technician.
With Luci Studio MX you can mix all the Luci Studio Instances inputs together and send a N-1 mix back per instance. The Main mix is either send to an audio output or an extra Luci Studio or Luci Live for sending it to your broadcaster. Now you do not need as many audio interfaces as you have instances, the mixer reduces this need to only one, or even none when using NDI.
Channels
This section holds all the Luci Studio instances audio outputs as inputs and optional an additional local audio input. The Luci Studio Instances have an option to connect to the mixer either local on the same PC or remote on a PC within the network. You can find these settings in Luci Studio in Luci Studio MX” in the Options->Instance Dialog:The channel strips are then created automatically, and the instance audio routing is diverted to the Mixer. The Audio Selection of the instances is locked as long as the Mixer is run. The Channel strips name is set to the Instance name (also changeable in the Luci Studio Options->Instance Dialog)
The Local channel strip and its Audio in/output can be set in the Audio Selection Dialog.
Note: Only Luci Studio Instances running on the same Network (eg. local network) are added to the channels section. Theoretically it is possible to connect to a global url outside your router, involving techniques like port-forwarding and NDI bridging.
Note: If you need to open a firewall: the connection is through TCP sockets on port 1984.
Master
This Master holds the Master Mix output strip and an optional Monitor strip. The Monitor strip and its audio in/output can be set in the Audio Selection Dialog. Without the monitor functionality, the channels do not have a Talk Back button, and CUE is converted to SOLO and ON to MUTE functionality.
